Recently did a 2” lift and am wondering about lowering the transfer case for a better angle. The kit the shop sold me said not to use the bolts in a six speed. I called they said it should be fine. The concern was gear shift clearance. Before I take it in - what have other TJ six speed folks done?

First off, get yourself a 1" MML (motor mount lift). That will reduce the angle of the transfer case output shaft and therefore decrease the pinion angle slightly.

In some cases this will be enough to get rid of vibrations.

However, in the case that it isn't, you may need to lower the transfer case by an inch give or take. This is easily done with longer transfer case bolts and washers, all of which you can buy at your local ACE Hardware or Home Depot.

I'm with CodaMan. Are you having a problem with the lift? Or do you think you need it because the instructions said so? If you aren't having a new vibration with the lift, then no need to drop the skid.
