2005 Manual Shift Lever

I recently installed a B&M Precision Sport Shifter trying to fix the common "pops out of gear problem" on a modified TJ and it partially remedied this problem. I like the positive and shorter throws it now provides. I had to modify the shifter lever to prevent from engaging with the console shifter cover in gears 2,4 6 and R. It now works as it should. My modification eventually led to grinding the bottom bend in the lever for clearance. What I'm looking for is a new shift lever that will make the lever "more centered" in the console, moving it more towards the dashboard. I can certainly have one manufactured but would like to see if one is available before I go through the expense. Any thought or suggestions would be appreciated.

A lot of people have dealt with this problem in various ways. Some have raised the shift lever. Others have moved the console back about 1". Others have bent the stock shifter. Others have done a tummy tuck after the body lift that originally caused this problem. In your case I think I'd move the console back. I don't know of an aftermarket shift lever that would solve your problem, though someone may.

I bent my stock shifter when I had a TC drop. It would pop out of 2nd and 4th.
