Has anyone actually fixed one of these units that has the dying problem. Everyone is suggesting the grounding system but I have no doubt it is not that... replaced fuel pump, cam sensor, crank sensor, distributor, computer, redid wiring loom over engine. This thing seems to run in open loop and acts up whenever it gets the urge in closed loop. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had a stalling issue. It would just die anywhere anytime. I read somewhere on a jeep forum to check the ASD relay. I ran my jeep in my driveway for about 45 min and it would die. I switch the ASD relay with the horn and it ran for over 3 hours. SO it was a bad relay. Hope that works for you.

Already did that in august....

@Wranglerfix and @Jamison C may can be of help ...Mark is very knowledgeable with the PCM and related behavior, and Jamison is good with anything electrical, as well as an all-around top notch guy at taking care of his.

Update.... I actually bypassed the ASD system to no avail. The shutdown occurs when shifting to closed loop. The dash will go dead and will no start until cool down.

You can send them to me and I will test them in my Jeep. I will send you videos of what I find with each one as well.

I would like to send them to you to see what you come up with. I have sent these back to CarComputer Exchange three times and it will not drop the 02 sensor codes and will not run.

When it dies, does it crank/no start or just doesn't crank.

Are you sure that it's an open/closed loop issue
or
something has gotten warm enough to cause the vehicle to cut out. Like possibly high resistance in a circuit?

Being a tech for GM I cannot tell you how many times I have replaced the UBEC (underhood bussed electrical center) or fuse box
in K trucks and G vans for your same complaint.

Its usual due to water getting into the fuse box and causing corrosion, You can't see it but its there. It usually won't blow a code.

Most common complaint, vehicle stalls won't start until it sits for a while.

If you have access to another fuse box, you could swap them out.

Also check the connectors under the fuse box for corrosion.

Complete dash and engine compartment wiring harness has been replaced along with the power distribution box and relays.
Every sensor, coil pack, etc has been replaced.
