So, I have a two post car lift that came with the house I bought. I've lined up the TJ in order to lift it and found that the skid plate prevents me from getting the lift pads to the frame. Wondering if anyone with experience of lift a TJ would have any suggestions of a solution. I'd love to be able to use the car lift.

Post a pic of said lift. You shouldn't have any issues. Do the ends flip up?

No, it is an older lift that hasn't been manufactured in 15 years (I've had it inspected to make sure it is still safe to use).

The pads are roughly six inch square platforms that screw into the arm.

Here is one picture of the skid plate interfering.

I put my jeep on our 2 post lift at work, but I'm guessing it's a newer model than yours. Do the arms extend out for adjustment?
On our, I can extend the rear arms to fit just behind the skid plate.

What about making some spacers to lay/bolt on top of your pads? On my lift, there are times when I have to use wood blocks to balance it out right.

TJ's are way easy to lift. My wife's grand cherokee, it sucks.

Yeah a spacer on the lift pad to shrink the pad surface is what i would do. A metal block of some sort like what Jerry uses under his jack stands. I think they were 4x4's.
