Hey All

I'm not really savvy with engine repairs but love my 2007 Wrangler Sahara.

I had a check engine light come on and brought the jeep to a shop that said that the diagnostic code involved the PCM. The shop said they were unable to work on it because it needs to be programmed by a dealer.

So I brought the Jeep to a local Jeep dealer and they said that the part needed (part #5094149 AF) has been discontinued and they cannot do the repair. They are unable to install 3rd party PCM's but said they can do the programming if someone else installs it. However, they said that if the programming does not work (and they said is very expensive), they will still charge me.

Any suggestions on what to do in this situation? I have very little trust for these dealerships.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks - so use this sore to order a new PCM, then see if I can find a mechanic to do the install? Does it still need to be programmed at the dealer?

Call Mark at Wranglerfix tomorrow morning, he has a tech that owns a JK and can walk you through the process.

Mark is the freaking Man!!!!!!!

All of our pcms are fully programmed and ready to go! They are all tested in one of our Jeeps prior to shipment. Please call me at 866-888-7710 to discuss in further detail if you'd like.

Thanks,

Mark
