The stock steel wheels on my 06 TJ are rusted out. I know these stock wheels have 5.5” backspace, but looking online all 15”, 5 on 4.5 wheels that I’ve seen have 4.5” backspace.
Would this be ok for 235 75 r15’s?
I understand it would just make the tires stick out 1” farther?
I’ve always ran this tire size and have a like new set I’d like to use.
Thanks!

The tires work on the stock rims? If they don't run on stock then they won't run on the new ones. Yes. Going from 5 1/2 to 4 1/2 backspace will just move the tire and rim 1 inch out.

Yes the 235 75’s work fine on the original stock rims. I think that was the stock size tire too. I think I forgot to mention that size is currently on my stock rims.
