Looking to maybe do a swap from my weary 32RH 3 speed auto to a NSG370 6 speed manual.

Any feedback? is the NSG370 good, bad etc?

The 32RH is a great transmission. Are you sure you'd want to swap one out? I don't know what it would take to do a manual swap.

NSG370: Good; ratios, low first, good spread. Bad; expensive to fix, early versions had synchro issues, difficult to source parts for.

The better route would be a new AX15 from Novak. Less expensive, easily sourced, rebuildable, can handle V8 torque of necessary.

Not sure actually. I know to rebuild or replace the 32RH is spendy. I have sourced a 2005 6 speed with low miles and all of conversion items for cheap so debating it now.

I wouldn't think the 32RH would be overly expensive to rebuild. It's a pretty simple tranny, but very good.

That exactly, and an NSG370 would not be my first choice if the sky was falling and I had to convert a 32RH to a manual transmission which I consider to be a downgrade.

If you absolutely must convert, convert to the much better quality and stronger Aisin AX-15 transmission.

If it were me I'd consider converting from the nearly bulletproof 32RH to any manual transmission to be a downgrade. And it's my opinion that you wouldn't be saving any $$$ by converting to the manual over simply having the 32RH rebuilt by a competent/good 32RH rebuilder.

I went the other way, I converted from a 5-speed to the 32RH solely for the huge benefits like 2-3x greater low-end torque and infinitely low first-gear ratio you get with the 32RH. Automatics are the choice of serious rock crawlers.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I will be spending the extra to rebuild.
Thanks Jerry!

By the way, exactly what is wrong with your 32RH? How is the ATF? Is it clear bright red or is it dark and burnt smelling? Is it up to the full line on the dipstick when you check it with the engine RUNNING and the transmission shifted into NEUTRAL? The level check will be inaccurate/show a higher level than actually exists if the engine isn't running or if the transmission is in Park.
