Hi everyone, new member and new owner of a 2006 TJ sport.

2H drives well but when switched to 4H car shudders and a lot of grinding noise. When switching back to 2H, it'll only reengage if i go to reverse and move and go back to D to get it into 2H again.

I'm guessing the first issue is caused by the front diff but i do not know what's causing the second. Would appreciate some thoughts and advice.

Front diff is a dana 30 3.73 ratio, rear diff is a dana 44 with trac loc.

Looking to change either a 4.56 or 4.88 ratio. If anyone could share a kit that would work with mine please.

TIA

Welcome.
More than likely your transfer case linkage needs adjusted.
You should be able to shift back and forth between 2H and 4H without effort, at any speed (within reason).

Is the front driveshaft installed? Is there a working front differential installed? Shifting into 4Hi will cause serious grinding if the front driveshaft is not spinning the input shaft of the transfer case while driving.
