Last Friday 4 misfire codes struck on my 2.5L.. P300, P301, P303, P304; and one P172 code, running too rich.
After a weekend of failed diagnosing misery I finally fixed it today with this part.
Do you know the name of this part as referenced in the FSM?
Jeep dealer wanted $125. I took a chance and got one thru OReilly and it works.
Who knows the correct name if this part?

My code reader calls it a Camshaft Sensor, but I learned from here it is called a distributor pickup coil. Some also call it a switch plate. Lots of names for it. LOL

Very good @KimsJeep!
The only name the Jeep dealer found it under is 'distributor switchplate.

It has several names tho, none of which could be found by said Jeep dealer parts counter man...
Cam sensor
Camshaft position sensor
Ignition pick up
Ignition module

This part is critical for spark timing. This one had 174k on it and was prob the original distributor switchplate.
Started giving a cyl#4 misfire about a month ago and gradually got worse.
Fixed now. 👍
