So in the long run the crankshaft position sensor was not the problem… Mine ended up being the PCM was starting to go out… about two days after I replaced the crankshaft sensor it died in the road again and I had it towed to the house and begin the weeklong testing that led to the discovery that the PCM had completely gone out… hard to tell if it’s the PCM because it won’t throw any codes you have to check for voltages and grounds going to and from the PCM…The next time it dies check and see if you have 5 V coming from pin 17 on the black plug from your computer… that 5 Volts needs to be seen at five individual sensors including the crankshaft, Camshaft, idle, before it will start… no 5v out more than likely your pcm is toast… any voltage out of pin 17 other than 5v you probable have a short in one of the sensors…I replaced my PCM and it runs like a champ..
