99 Sport with AX 15 and 33 tires what gear ratio

Hey Guys,
A good friend of mine just got his first TJ and he hit a pretty good incline and it went pretty flat in 4th and 5th... Assuming it hasn't been regeared what ratio does he likely have and what is ideal?

He probably has 3.07 based on the description, 4.56 would make me happy. Some like 4.88 if you're in an exceptionally hilly or mountainous area.

Thanks Jerry , my 03 has 4:56 so he can compare to some degree , and we will rotate the tires and count shaft revolutions. I drove it , felt good on flat ground, I wondered if it was regeared .

Is 4th-5th tall on the Ax-15?
