So, today I picked up a tilt steering column that I found for sale. It came out of a 2000, which just so happens to be the same year TJ that I have. I’m hoping to swap out the tilt column with my fixed column.
The reason I’m wanting to do this is because of the wheel blocking my view to the gauges and indicator lights. My seats do not recline and only slide front to back. No matter where I put the seat, I have most of the gauge cluster blocked.
I figure I’m ahead even if it’s not possible because of the upgraded steering wheel and intermittent wiper controls that came on the new column. I still need to get the column covers that go with the tilt steering, which shouldn’t be too hard.
