I have 4" of lift and with swapping an axle looking for something adjustable. Most will advise getting the Crown control arm replacements with bushings if you are keeping things stock.
So you say double adjustable is worth it? I found a set of uppers and lowers for the rear from Trail Logic for under $350. Never heard had heard of them before, but everything looks nice and same tubing as all the big names that are commonly used on here. I might take the gamble on the small business?I love my double adjustable arms by MC. They are so much easier to adjust then single adjustable. If your looking for something cheaper I have heard mixed reviews on Core 4x4 (ebay). All I can say is if you going to wheel it hard then buy once and buy right. MC or Currie you can't go wrong.
In my mind the double adjustability is worth the upgrade. I'm not sure about heim joints in control arms since I've never used them. If I were you I'd research them prior to ordering.I have 4" of lift and with swapping an axle looking for something adjustable.

You are very correct. Once they are set up they are hardly ever changed.Correct me if I'm wrong, but control arm set-up should only be needed once, when installing them. Seems like double adjustable, while nice and offer an easier set up, are not a great value for a one time adjustment.
For a relatively small premium per arm I would gladly get double adjustable. Some people may get the arms adjusted quickly but people such as @tomtaylz @bobthetj03 and myself have had to make so many small adjustments (.5 degrees) to get vibs mitigated that its worth the extra cost. With double adjustable arms you can change the angle in about 5 min while with single it could be 20+. Now figure your doing 5 - 8 adjustments with test drives inbetween and it can make a day project much shorter. You are very correct. Once they are set up they are hardly ever changed.
Its more a cost vs benefit. To be honest I don't know how much time you would save with the double adjustable. But some people feel their time is very valuable.

On top of that if you're not installing everything at once such as lift and sye you could need to adjust more than once.
I've settled on the Ford 8.8 for now. I thought about doing the Dana 60, but dealing with the width issue is too much right now. And I'll be DD my rig a lot. With the various truss systems for the 8.8 I think it will be an easier swap and do just fine for me. Dana 44's cost too much if you can find one. Plus the 8.8 will handle the V8 power a little better. In my mind the double adjustability is worth the upgrade. I'm not sure about heim joints in control arms since I've never used them. What axle are you swapping in?
You're 100% correct. That said if you buy double adjustable you'll never be on your 5th adjustment and say you wish you bought single.Exactly my point.
Both do the same job when set. Its all about the time you spend setting them up.
