Advice on replacing the exterior mirrors

I just want to complain about the mirror purchase I made on ebay... sorry but it bugs the heck out of me.

So, I went ahead and made the purchase of those newer style mirrors right?! on ebay... 5 minutes later I get an email from autoshack.com (totally different from the ebay name) saying

"Dear Customer,
You can now shop online at our web store using the following credentials:"

Logged in and there was my order of the mirrors, along with all of my information on their website servers, address, phone number, email address, got automatically subscribed to all the newsletters and bluh bluh. I understand that they need the shipping info to send the stuff to me, but they don't need to create an account without my knowledge and retain all my information indefinitely, technically asking me to do business with them directly. What the heck?

For some reason I've always liked the looks of the mirrors on the early TJs but the mirrors from 2003 to 2006 are designed to be stronger and the last much longer.

Here's a set for $40.38, I have no idea what the Mopar price for them would be.

This. I tried to replace mirrors on my 2000 with the factory style mirrors. I’ve bought expensive ones and cheap ones and they always moved after hitting the slightest bump on the road. Ultimately bought the 2003-2006 style and I never looked back and wondered why I never did it before....

The pitting and paint peeling is exactly why I replaced mine years ago with the newer style. I tried cleaning and painting the arms and it looked like crap (it bugged me while driving and sitting at stoplights just staring back at me mocking me... so I exterminated them).

My Ebay mirrors are still in good shape....... keep in mind i don't drive the jeep much. But i have not had a problem yet. (Knock on wood)

Thanks for that link to the $40 ones on ebay. Mine move from shutting the doors. It drives me crazy. Plus I have half doors so I have to unzip the window to adjust them. I'm getting a set of these to put on my new full doors.
