Greetings everyone . I purchased a 4" X series lift kit from Rough Country (not long arm). I had it installed by a lift specialist. I am not a mechanic and not very knowledgeable about lift characteristics. My friend's father recommended it . I told him I wanted a very durable lift that would last me through my retirement. I do moderate offroading. Old mining tracks mostly.

The moment I drove it off the lot, I noticed severe sway and it was literally scary to drive home on the freeway.
I told my friend about it. We installed a Helwig sway bar. Rough Country sent me for free, a stiffer set of shocks. My friend installed urethane bushings. A mechanic told me that my castor was off so he corrected it. I also had Bilsteins installed.

And the jeep remains uncomfortable to drive. I feel like it constantly dips and sways. It feels like I have to constantly counter steer.

I am ready to downgrade to what I had before. A low end Pro Comp 4 inch which drove straight and true. I guess my last effort would be stiffer springs? I just don't know.

Honestly, i had no idea that a suspension could behave like this. I assumed that it would be like my Pro Comp but more durable. Any help? I am ready to downgrade. Should I?

Sincerely

Rough Country is really no better than Pro Comp. 99% of the folks here would not recommend them as they are known to make springs that sag, shocks that are horrible and don't last, and bushing that also fail quickly.

I believe they also come with a drop pitman arm, which will cause unwanted handling characteristics. It also looks like it comes with a drop track bar bracket and adjustable track bar.

I'd ditch the drop pitman arm, and remove the front track bar bracket and readjust the track bar. It should drive better after doing that. If you look at the high quality lifts like what Currie has, they don't come with those parts. http://www.currieenterprises.com/CE-9800H

Are you sure your sway bar is connected with the links? Was there are drop pitman arm? Could you post up a couple photos?

Edit: Someone beat me to it.
