What happened to it. Oem or aftermarket they're probably gonna be the same shape/design.

Not sure. Previous owner musta been beatin on it with hard top install.

I’m fine with the design, just want to install something that hasnt been beatin on at all by another owner.

When I removed the aftermarket hard top on mine, I found that the passengers side was a little mangled up like that too. I googled “tj side windshield molding” and found a bunch on eBay in good shape.

Just got some oem replacement off of ebay.

what should fitment be like here? should hard top male piece fit snug to the windshield trim? Is this gap normal or is there foam molding/weather stripping that is missing on the windshield trim?

I didn't know the top was supposed to have a 'male' piece.
I've had two, and neither had it.
It would certainly make lowering the top down on to the jeep more tricky.
As far as the gap.
If your sure the top is all the way forward, then maybe the foam has shrunk.

Hmmm….well…this the male piece Im referring to.
