Air conditioner not working

when I turn it on and off I can hear it try to blow but only For under a second and thoughts on what it could be

What year and motor? Check to see if your ac clutch is engaging the pulley- could also be a blend door/vaccuum issue. We’ll need more details

Have someone sit in the vehicle and turn the AC on while you are under the hood. Watch and see if the AC compressor clutch engages. That's the first place to start.
