Ok all if you clockspring, SRS and whatever else gurus. I changed my AC Evaporator which means I had to pull the dash apart and since then when I turn the key on the airbag light comes on, goes off then comes back on again. All plugins have been checked, the steering column down no

Yes, it was completely removed but was not allowed to sling at all. Even more odd is that now the OBDII won’t work.

So you’re positive the steering wheel didn’t spin.

The OBD should have a fuse. If it’s popped and keeps popping trace the wires back and find out what got pinched.

If it were the clock spring wouldn’t I have other issues like the horn and cruise not working? Everything works fine, it just Has the airbag light on.

I’m having a similar issue. I had the airbag fuse out for a while because I didn’t have my back seat in and had to put my son’s car seat in the passenger seat. everything was working fine before I took the fuse out but when I finally put it back in, the light stayed on. Tried removing the airbag bulb in the instrument cluster and that just triggered the seatbelt light. Put the bulb back in and seatbelt light is off, but airbag light is still on. I thought maybe it could be the clock spring, but the horn works fine (I don’t have cruise control). I haven’t really had time to mess with it yet though.

what about pulling the battery cable off to reset fault light

Tried that as well as discharging the system by grounding the positive cable too. Still kicks back on.

Mine only had the airbag light. Horn and signals all worked fine. New clockspring and all is well.

Before you drop the money on a clock spring go back and double check your airbag connections again.

Try doing a hard reset on your battery pull cables off ground out to frame to release any phantom electricity and wait 60 seconds to plug your battery back in: safety systems act weird when The computer sees you make them unsafe

Found this thread while searching on my issue, which was: airbag light on, no response from the dial switch for my fan (although I could feel heat coming from vent), and no backup lights when shifting into reverse. Switched out the ignition switch with one from Amazon, and all symptoms resolved. I frickin love this forum!

Ok. So for anyone having their airbag light coming in in the instrument cluster and think it’s the clockspring...make sure the on/off passenger airbag switch light works. I have been dreading buying a clockspring for mine because it has cruise in it so the thing is around $300. More than I’d like to throw at it to HOPE it works. I got lucky and for some reason glanced down when I turned the headlights on at startup and nothing lit up on the passenger airbag switch. The fact that the bulb in that thing can set off the BUS code as well as the airbag light is completely idiotic in my opinion. The worst part is that if you have the passenger airbag armed the light doesn’t stay on, it only says “off” if you have the passenger airbag disabled. I got lucky and noticed but if anyone else has an airbag light on and the also have the BUS code check this little lightbulb before you do anything else. 30 minutes of your time de-soldering the old bulb and soldering in a fresh one will be surprisingly rewarding...especially because I didn’t shotgun a clockspring at it.

I had the red SRS Air Bag light on the instrument cluster come on. Checked all the wiring, fuses, clock spring and found there was 12V going to the Passenger side Air bag On/Off switch and the indicator bulb, but he bulb was off. No continuity... bulb was burned out.
You can find the replacement Wheat style 7219 bulb on Amazon for $5.25 for 10 bulbs.
I soldered in a new bulb and the red SRS Air Bag light on the instrument cluster went away.

@Chris posted the fix a few years ago and I followed that one. Already done and food to go but thanks for the insight as well.
