Today a guy knocked on the door. He wanted to know how much damage the fire caused. I wasn't home the wife wouldn't tell him anything.

She asked him what he wanted, well he would help us get more money from the insurance company. She said and you charge us how much?

He wouldn't say how much just that he could get us 30 to 40 percent more money. She told him to leave. He left a card. The wife should have told him when the phone don't ring it will be me.

Yeah their stained rate is 40% of settlement. You don’t see a dollar more. He gets a chunk for a few letters and calls

My buddy went through this. The lawyer took 40% of the payout.

Driving out near Pittsburgh recently, and there was an ad for some attorney stating they "only" charged 25%. That still seems more than required for a few letters and calls.

We had a big storm here a few years ago. Knocked down a bunch of trees, including three in my front yard. Literally at 8 am the next day, I had one of those guys at my door asking about insurance, what I was doing, how much money I thought I get, etc. He looked absolutely stunned when I told him I'm not filing a claim, the trees didn't hit my house and if he didn't leave like, right now, I was gonna put him to work hauling brush. I grew up in the country...I have a chainsaw and know how to use it!
