My 97 ran like a dream on Saturday.
Sunday morning I tried starting it to go to church...
Crank crank crank
When I let off the key, chuggity chug & puff of white smoke from the intake
Ideas?

I ran across this cracked box when starting my visual inspection. what is it and would it being cracked cause the start issue?

Try this before your next morning start, don't try starting it before doing this. Cycle the ignition switch on-off-on 8-10 times before turning it to the Start position, leaving it in the On position 2 seconds each time. Then try starting it. If it start right away after doing that you just have a leaky check valve inside the fuel pump which is fixed by replacing the fuel pump. Please post a photo of or at least give a detailed description of where that cracked box is.

Can you post a picture of said cracked box?

BWD at Advance for $53
Master pro at o'Reilly for $40
Thoughts?

X2 on Mopar. Avoid any of the so-called performance ignition coils. They don't help performance (really) and they're more likely to fail as my Screamin' Demon coil coil did 20 years ago before I learned better.
