Any pilots here?

I've always had expensive hobbies that seem to be ratcheting up.

I'm getting to retirement age and thinking about getting a pilots license and maybe a plane.

Any recommendations other than joining the air force and flying cargo planes when I was 18?

I’m scheduled to go to Flight school next year for the fixed wing transition.

Flying helicopters is the absolute best sense of flying. but the pay scale in the helicopter world tops out where airlines begin.

There was a dirt landing strip down the road from me as a wee lad. Guy that owned it had a Bonanza, as did just about everyone else who would land there of a weekend. Sometimes there'd be 6 or 8 of them there. And one Piper Cub whose owner stored it there.

I loved flying the Cub!!!!

I've been told that it's easier to go from rotorcraft to fixed wing. I think it's because y'all are smarter!
