i had cut away OE fenders made into HL's but the orange cancer is winning on the decks.
i like a couple brands of available HL fenders but the idea of them not matching the cuts my body already has is a concern and not wanting to have to find and cut another hood or re-bend the inners is as well.
anyways, in an attempt to stop the leak in my wallet i thought i'd give it a go at making a pair.
anybody ever made their own? any tips, tricks or don't forget to's?
i made up a simple 16ga panel with a leg to bolt onto the firewall and a leg to wrap and attach to the inner.
a simple .125 X 1.125" flat bar bent around the grill (3 bolts holding, gusset will be added later). and a 1" tube with a couple bends.
i have enough scrap from the cuts to the rear aluminum body armor to trim and use as the top decks on them.
anyone had any success making some ?
