Anybody Multilingual or Learning another language?

I was born and raised in England ...we used to get a few exchange students staying with us as I grew up...one Spanish student who stayed with us said that she spent most of her life learning English then came to England and found that nobody spoke a word of it hahaha this is a problem as we have a different accent every 100 miles.
On a side note get a Scotsman drunk and its like a foreign language :borra2:

I grew up with 2 older brothers in london, all 3 of us have different accents...

I do know Spanish, English and Brazilian Portuguese. Few other programming languages.
Always have the taste to learn new languages and work got me to places that to enjoy at large is better to learn the local language so I do practice more. It's really fun and expand your horizons.

I was fairly good with Spanish after taking it for 2 years in high school way back in the 80s.
Use it or lose it.
I never had the opportunity to speak it again until about 10 years ago.
The weird part is that if a Spanish speaker writes it down, I can understand it and I can sometimes remember enough to reply.
But when someone is speaking to me, it's too fast and I just can't keep up.

I was in VA. at a school for 2 months back in 03. There were folks there from all over the world and I had a lot of fun brushing up on my Spanish.
I was also pretty good at translating for drunken Yankees and deep southerners trying to communicate.
You haven't seen funny until you sit with a guy from Connecticut and a guy from upstate NY trying to speak with a guy from east TN and another from Louisiana over shots at 0200.
