Anyone had luck with aftermarket upper door frames?

So, anyone had luck with aftermarket upper door frames? If so, which brand? There are several, and prices are all over the place. I just want some that fit right. Local dealer says OEM are a no go.

You are talking about half door upper frames, right? If so, I got some smittybilt uppers with the half doors I bought secondhand a while back. I usually avoid and do not recommend smittybilt, but I have no complaints.

Yes. Upper 1/2 door frames. I have new in box skins, but my frames are bent and I'd like to just get new ones. There are many brands, with so-so reviews and prices all over the place. Rampage, Smitty, Omix. Just looking for any first hand advice to keep disappointment at a minimum!

I don't have first hand experience with buying just frames, but my advice is to go with OEM if available and if the price isn't ridiculous. I'd like to think that something as simple as upper door frames would be hard to get wrong, but some of these companies are just too good at what they do (making crappy products).

By the way, welcome to the forum! That color is one of my favorites on the TJ!

This 97 is my sixth Jeep I've owned over the years. Bought it from a guy I sold my YJ to 13 years ago, when my kid was born. Told him I'd always be interested in his Jeeps. Got a steal on this one. The YJ got crushed by a telephone pole.
I talked to my local dealer, OEM is not available according to them. I've only found BestTop with skins included. I've tried to contact them to no avail. I guess I'll eeny meeny the aftermarkets if that's what it comes to. They're probably all made in the same place anyway.

I have OEM so can't recommend an aftermarket but have you considered buying a pair of beat up windows from FB or CL so you can get a set of OEM fames for you skins...
