Anyone know what these frayed wires are on my 2006 TJ?

does the female spade connector slip into the connector? if you can see in the photo, the wire is frayed basically into the connector. I can see the yellow wire side being an easy crimp & connect, I just dont have too much insight on the connector end
Yeah man! Don't worry about that black plastic piece. Take it off the starter and throw it in the trash! Cut away an inch or so above the badly frayed portion on the yellow wire. Strip it, crimp on a spade, and install it on the starter.

Now, if the wire is too short to reach after you cut away the bad portion, you may need to splice in an extension of same gauge wire. To do that, you'd cut away the bad, strip it, crimp a butt connector to the yellow wire, crimp your extension wire to the other side of the butt, and crimp the spade to the end of the extension, and slide it on the starter. You've got this!
