Are all 4 O2 sensors interchangeable? Or is there specific O2 sensors for block 1 sensor 1. Block 1 sensor 2. Block 2 sensor 2. And Block 2 sensor 2 ?

When purchasing, how do I know which is which? I'm going to replace all 4. There is 2 right after the exhaust manifold and 2 more not to far below that. There are NONE even close to the catalytic converter near the muffler
Simple go to Rock Auto and they tell you which ones you need for your year then look up the Thread Chris started on O2,s! Bank 1 and Bank 2 have different serial codes for each one upper and lower so you cant go wrong! Make sure you get NTK or you will get slaughtered by the forum crazy's!
Do one at a time, they don't have identifying stamping on them. My first time i took all 4 out of the boxes and then i was on here asking how to id which sensor is which
If you have trouble sourcing the correct part number the front two are the same and the rear two are the same sensor. Bank 1 and 2 are the same thing other than the connector so you can swap them if you mess with the wires. One of the NTK part numbers can be difficult to find, this is a solution if you really need NTK and have trouble finding the part.
IIRC, in addition to the different connectors, the wiring may be somewhat different lengths.
I can see it now, what was going on in the board room when they decided to use different versions of the same O2 sensors.
The accountants wanted "just one dammit!" to save $$$ while the engineers probably had some kind of installation/wiring issues to overcome and still meet EPA demands. The battering went back and forth until the engineers got their way. I bet they gave up something in that meeting though, maybe the cost of putting drain holes in the frame.
FWIW, my 2005 Dodge Ram uses two NTK 23160 and two NTK 23159, which aren't even on the same bank in my 2006 TJ. It may be the only time I'll take the accountants side.
So I check this out- I know a guy who is an idiot- I’ve told people “ there is no situation so bad he can’t make it worse”.
He wanted to change all the vacuum lines on an older vehicle- so first he got them all removed, rather than one at a time- and was totally lost.
Ohh Andy i laugh but i know well amount of stupid shit i am capable of after not eating and sleeping for a day or two...
Last month i throw in 5 unmarked AK bolts into sonic cleaner and forgetting that they have unique head space. Before that undid entire wiring mess job to do proper crimp connectors and then realize that aftermarket wire color did not match factory wiring... just live and laugh
