Buongiorno a tutti. Today is a happy day, almost all the new pieces have finally arrived to start the evolution of my TJ. Since my intentions are to keep me on a 2 "lift and not to go further, I took medium load OME springs, 2932 and 2942. A new OME steering damper, a relocation for the rear pahnard, new bump stops, lowering kit gearbox, caster kit front, and new silent bloc for the two pahnard bars, since the silent bloc of the control arms are worn and noisy, I took 8 new control arms, plus I am waiting for the new bilstein 5100 shock absorbers from the united states +2 " . The gear oil is already ready as well as the new OPDA to replace the old one. Also came the new 265/75/16 tires to replace the old 245/75/16 of 2004. I enclose some pictures, I can't wait to mount everything. I believe that for one or two weeks, I will have to use the original shock absorbers, waiting for the bilstein.

Thanks guys, I can't wait to build it with the new setup. Finally there are 35 degrees outside and winter is over. Today I will take the last walk in the standard configuration, Tuesday I will go to the grage to start the new project. I can't wait to pull away the hard top and be able to go around cabriolet. I believe I will soon buy a long bikini top to install on the roof.
PS: people often turn to look at it on the street, it is a particular medium and does not pass unattended, at least here. Jk are much more common, but for me, Tj has its charm.

Buongiorno. Today I picked up my Tj at the garage. Something is still missing, like the shock absorbers, the connecting rods of the front stabilizer bar, and some other small modifications. Overall, I'm really very happy with the result and the driveability of my TJ. I replaced the OPDA, and mounted it based on the top dead center of my engine, I find that at the bottom the engine has become less brusque while at the top it has a more beautiful and linear stroke. Only problem, how can I fit the rear spare wheel? Unfortunately it does not enter, what modification can I make?

Why does the spare tire not fit? Is it hitting the rear bumper?

If so, you may need a new rear bumper.

Your TJ looks great though!

Ciao Chris, the wheel rests on the rubber plate holder and is too high to fit and fit in the holes of the wheel holder. If someone has already had this problem and found a solution, I would be happy, otherwise I will try to invent something. Thank you, the Tj is really very nice in this configuration, it looks nice live, it's not too big, it's not too small and low. I have to live with the new OPDA that changed the advance on the engine.

I figured that was the case. That plate holder on your bumper is getting in the way. You either need a new bumper with a spare tire carrier built in, or this here should do the trick, as it moves the spare tire up more (vertically) considerably:

Further on, I will take a new bumper with a separate wheel carrier, but at the moment, I will change the license plate holder and try to see if it will be able to fit the wheel on the wheel holder. ;)

Let us know how it goes :)

Certainly Chris, I have taken some measures and it seems that by cutting the license plate holder under the projection of the wheel, and lowering the number plate holes, plus a raising of the central stop by 1 ", everything should enter without problems. wheel distance measurements from the door and tires to which the spare wheel should rest.

Sounds like you've got it figured out. I look forward to seeing the finished result!

Good morning. Today is Christmas again, shock absorbers have finally arrived from the USA, I'm really happy. They are the bilstein B8 5100 for 2 "lift, they look really well made and they are very beautiful to look at. I can't wait to mount them and try them. In the meantime I am waiting for the new rods for the stabilizer bar, quick release. a few weeks, I should be able to devote myself to the rear wheel holder to modify it.The TJ project continues.

Good evening, after having been out for work the past few weeks, today the new Rubicon Express quick release rods have arrived from the states. Needless to say, I am as happy as a child receiving his Christmas present. Although, I think I am taking a bad road with these changes and I have to try not to get my hands on it too much, next week I will finally mount new shock absorbers and rods, and I hope to be able to modify the rear spare tire. Un caro saluto a tutti dalla soleggiata Italia :D.

Buonasera ragazzi, today I have finally completed the assembly of all the mechanical components on Athena. Now everything is in its place, and I simply believe I love this lift kit. It seems to travel on the tracks, stable and comfortable. The shock absorbers and the rods seem to do their job as I wanted it to be. I did just 20km and in the coming days I will try everything better. Like every time during this period, I am very happy and satisfied with the result. Unfortunately I am still far from making my spare wheel holder because I am looking for a new wheel carrier to change but incredibly, I can't find anything used in Italy.

PS: the tips found on this forum are really valuable, a big thanks to the forum. Grazie :D

Buonasera a tutti, giorno felice per me ed Athena. Today came another small gift for Athena, mounted in 20 minutes immediately after work. The price is high compared to the states, but I think it's worth it.

After so long that I don't post more photos of my Tj this evening, I'll show you some shots at sunset. I haven't found a rear wheel holder yet that I can modify, so I decided to completely remove the original one. For the rest, I let the pictures and Athena speak. This is the current configuration, there is still a lot to do for the future.

Buonasera, since it is a bit that I don't write, I want to update this trhead, showing where it all started with my Tj

. The journey back home immediately after buying it. 350km of travel, along the Italian ring roads and motorways, going up and down the Apennines.
