Ax15 options - chipped reverse gear

When I bought my 99TJ 4.0 it had a chipped reverse gear. Not really a functional issue, but it does clunk when backing up.

I'm going to be selling the Jeep and wondering what to do about the reverse gear. Fishing for opinions.

Replace AX15 with new unit.
Replace AX15 with used unit.
Have a shop rebuild (Replace reverse gear) existing transmission.

Thoughts?

Nobody will care that it has a new tranny if the Jeep still has +150K miles and rusty.
If you are truly planning on selling it buy a used tranny and install it yourself. This will be the only way you may break even. I took a gamble buying a used tranny off eBay. I paid $439 shipped (Ax5 not 15) and it has been working out very well no issues, and I installed it myself.

Buy the reverse gear and install it.

Really the cheapest option.

Sell it as-is and disclose it to the potential buyers. You’ve made it work for awhile, the next guy can too. Or he can fix it his way.
