AX5 Transmission Fluid Recommendations?

I figured before I completely bolt up the skid plate (its being supported by a floor jack now thanks to some of you!) I would like to go ahead and change the transmission fluid. I always come here for suggestions before I do anything to the TJ! any brand works better, any pointers?

Maybe. As suggested above Redline MT-90 is best but it's not sold locally. So for needing to buy it today you want a synthetic 75W-90 GL-5 gear lube but only if it says this on the back label... "Safe for yellow metals". Don't even think about using a 75W-90 GL-5 gear lube in your transmission unless it says that.

Ideally you want a GL-4 75W90 synthetic gear lube as Redline MT-90 is but that is not available locally. GL-5 75-90 gear lubes are not normally ok to use in a transmission BUT if it says 'Safe for yellow metals' on the back label it'll be fine.

The Redline MT-90 is worth the wait for you AX5 trans, you can get it quickly from Amazon.

I like the Redline MTL or MT-90 as well (because I like Redline products) but if you can’t find it locally and can’t or don’t want to order it, try Valvoline Synchromesh. It’s a GL4 gear oil. It works fine. The Valvoline seems to be the most common GL4 oil locally available….at least for me.

3.3 quarts. Some people use 10W30 motor oil too.

I ordered now, was able to get overnight delivery on Amazon.
The bottles have a long neck so I’m wondering if I can use a fluid hand pump? How would you fill the top hole with these bottles?

Hand pump is the trick.
