The TSLs continue to impress me. They aren't going to win any awards for highway driving, but I've found them bearable. They do flat spot pretty good for a few miles, especially when it is cold. They usually smooth out by the time I get to the highway, so I can live with that. They are ridiculously grippy in the sloppy stuff. I have not been terribly impressed with them on wet rock- my brother in law's STT Pros hook up better, but I put that down to how light the TJ is and how stiff the TSLs are. The TSLs blow the STTs away in mud, deep snow, sand, etc. I've only run the TSLs down to 8psi and there's still barely any tire deflection on flat ground. They pillow out a bit on rocks, but I may experiment with lower psi this summer.
Other than the control arms, the only other failures I've had was a rear shock bolt coming loose and my hardtop glass not staying closed. The retaining bolt on my Teraflex shock mount extension came most of the way out, but I was able to retap it and I haven't had a problem since. The hardtop glass was fixed by a new rubber strip on the bottom of the glass.
Another thing I've started doing this winter is putting together YouTube videos for friends and family. I have absolutely 0 delusions about my videos going anywhere, but they're the easiest way to show people what I do in my free time. I picked up a Dana 300 a few weeks ago for only $300. I'll probably install that in the next year or two, with a flip kit, twin stick, 4:1 gears, and even though it'd be useless in AK, a doubler box. Who knows when I'll move down to the lower 48.
The summer wheeling season is weeks away, and I have no major repairs/upgrades to make, unlike last year at this time, when my axles were still on the bench. I'm super exited to hit the ground running. For now, here's a few highlights from the last time I posted to now:
