Hey guys,
New here, long time lurker on and off since about ‘05.
Some background info:
I bought a brand spanking new black ‘06 wrangler x 4.0 6 speed back at the end of ‘05 and used and abused it for several years. I had BIG plans for it but never did anything other than put some 31” km2s on it and wheeled it every single chance I got. It’s surprising what a stock wrangler will do. Fast forward a little bit and I started my family and sold the tj for a bigger vehicle. Fast forward a little more and my kids are in booster seats now and I bought another tj.
My new jeep is pretty much everything I wanted my ‘06 to be, and I love it. It’s an ‘01 wrangler sport with 4.6 stroker done right, nv3550 5 speed, not sure which transfer case, possibly out of a rubicon, but it has a SYE so I don’t know, rubicon d44s front and rear with factory lockers, 4 wheel disc brakes, Durango steering box with skid plate and steering box cooler, teraflex 4” long arm triangulated 4-link, 16” classic 2s with 35” nitto trail grapplers, and a few other small things.
I know the long arm lifts aren’t popular here but this one is welded and seems like it’s done right, so far so good for me. No complaints yet.
I have several other vehicles, three pretty rare old late ‘70s ford 4x4s, a ‘47 cj2a, ‘52 Cj3a and a ‘51 Cj3a, but being in a tj again has put a damper on those for the time being. I’m glad to be back in a tj again and the family LOVES it.
question, should I start a build thread and ask my specific questions there? Or should I just post individual threads with the questions I have? A build thread would be slow and not very exciting but maybe centralize everything for me for simplicity sake and not clog the forum with a bunch of questions that have been asked a million times.
