I have a great running 97 2.5 with 168k.
A couple weeks ago I had a cyl#3 misfire code come out of left field. I believe I have that misfire fixed.
Out of curiosity I thought I would check spark plug #3 today so I pulled it and it shows a beautiful light brown burn on the porcelain..looks like the PCM is doing a good job keeping the 14:1 air/fuel ratio
The plugs are from a P.O.. Bosch double iridiums which is fine but my engine has a distributor.
Most of the Tjs on The Forum are 4.0s with distributorless ignition system which double iridiums are best suited for.
Some/many of you may recall checking spark plug color is one way we tuned our carburetors before computers controlled engines
