Goes to show what they considered safe back in the 60's...helmets only, no crash bar/cage, guy tied on the the front of an Indy-type racer with rope, holding a camera that for all intents and purposes seems to be blocking the view of the driver...

F1, 1970s, not unusual to see 6 drivers killed in a year. Speed, power, aerodynamics, all changed way faster than any concern for safety. Cars are built completely different today. Everyone cried foul when Indy tried to limit speeds. That was what got CART started. The rebellion against safety.
