This is a great site and I'm always impressed with the depth of knowledge on here so here's a puzzler I'm dealing with right now... I'm installing a 3.25 inch lift in my 2002 TJ and the kit came with the spacers to lower the belly pan. But if I lower the belly pan then that will bring the transmission/transfer case down with it because of the mount being bolted to the belly pan, doing so will change the factory angle of the drivetrain. That doesn't seem like a good idea. Looking for some insight into what others have done or not done about this.

That's how the kit is designed to reduce chances of unwanted vibrations.

To eliminate the spacer you'd need things like adjustable control arms, a slip yoke eliminator, new rear driveshaft... probably a cable shifter for the transfer case and a few more things.

So pulling the drive train (transmission/transfer case and engine) into a different angle isn't going to create more issues somewhere else..like engine mounts ? Just seems haphazard to me.

Yup. Hopefully the engineers who designed that lift kit didn't make a ton of bad compromises to make it work.

Watch the fan inside the shroud. That's usually your best indicator. I've notched my holes and slid my fan shroud around post motor mount, body mount and tummy tuck.

No it gets the driveline angles back to where they need to be.

Not haphazard just a cheap way to do a lift.
