Best tire and wheel set up?

I'm currently on stock suspension with 245/75/16 KO2s on steels wheels. I'm about to install a set of Rancho5000Xs with H&R 1.5" Lift Springs. What would you say is the optimal tire & wheel set up for that spec? Keep on 16s or drop to 15s? What size tire? What load rating? I'm pretty happy with the KO2s but open to hearing if there is another AT tire you guys recommend over them? Would swapping to MTs massively effect road noise/performance? It's my daily driver and I do some moderate off-roading. Keen to hear what setups you all are running.

I am in the same stage with you right now, trying to figure all this stuff out. It is also my daily driver, but I am trying to offroad it as much as I can.

After reading A LOT of threads in this forum, I have came into those conclusions:

1) 15" rims are way better than 16" rims for our TJs. The reason is that there are a lot more options of Tires for 15" rims, and also that You can find easier Load Range C tires, instead of Load Range D or E (which are the most r16 tires).

2) I am about to buy some 31/10.5r15 tires. 99% BF Goodrich KO2s. A lot of members of this forum have advised me that 31" tires fit perfectly in a stock TJ. For offroad purposed though it would be better to install a 2" suspension lift kit, in order to maintain the full up-travel of your shocks.

3) I am going to buy some 15x8 rims with 3.75 backspacing.

I got it wrong, mine are 16's actually. You've got a point though, almost all of the wheels I'm looking at are 15s. Interesting info though. I'll take a look.

You want the Rancho RS5000X, not RS5000. The X is important when ordering, the RS5000 are the old shocks.

If you can find them, and it’s not easy, Jeep released a factory Alcoa 15” forged aluminum wheels for our TJ’s. They came factory on the Tomb Raider editions and the 65th Anniversary editions.

Likely the strongest and lightest factory wheel offered for the TJ/LJ. The draw is the backspace IIRC.

Look for a load range C tire regardless of A/T or M/T. Since you drive it daily, I would also recommend an all terrain tire.

Yes mate! Love those wheels. Been searching for them constantly but they are hard to find. I found these from Mammoth but I don't know how they compare in quality. Same thing with the Pro Comp version.

Not the same quality, fit, or finish if those brands deal overseas.

Another Alcoa forged aluminum model would be the only thing that’s a fair comparison IMO.
