And they're the only ones I've researched that offer twill half door uppers. I'm not scoring any royalty points from them. I think it's pretty interesting that they popped up 5 years ago, 25 miles down the road from Bestop. You don't start a company basically next door to your most powerful competitor without hiring some of their current or former employees.
Sure it wasn't started by former employees? That seems very common anymore.
no, that's exactly what I'm getting at - most likely started by former employees, but even if not, there's no way some of them aren't working there.
The President of it came from a Solar company, all the other listed employees, on LinkedIn, are from Mexico where they must make the tops.
oddly enough, I just realized bestop, (which is owned by kinderhook) also owns tuffy, baja designs, softopper, and sPod..
ahh i didn't think to look it up that way, well at least its not the same company. Good competition.
Agreed on their customer support. I asked a bunch of questions before I ordered (phone and email) and I always got someone the same day. after I installed it, I got a few water drops inside after a heavy rain, really it was probably because it hadent fully stretched out but I sent them an email and a week later I had a new window.

Be careful about which frame you get if you go with a framed version.
I'm not exactly sure which Bestop I have (quite possible for a YJ or Supertop Classic Replacement Skin) but it's barely louder at highway speed than hard top. The pro/con lies in the frame. Mine is not a stock TJ frame but it fits perfect for the top.
Pros: Good quality and does not use door surrounds, one less things. Rear window rolls up or zips off. Easy to adjust tightness.
Cons: Because it doesn't use door surrounds there's a weird gap between full door and side window (still rain tight) - it is ugly. The rear sail panels are big and catch wind. I usually tie them to roll cage for long highway trips if windows are out.

According to Bestop, their tops are made in Mexico, too. Maybe all too much of a coincidence.
