Hey all
I attempted to install some Fishbone sliders today . My 05 as a 1.25” JKS body lift. The person that installed it used new 4” long grade 5 bolts, not flanged so need a washer. Why would they do that?? The standard bolts are 3.5” and they added 1.25 so I figured they go for 5”…
I backed out the passenger side bolts out and jacked it up. All fine. When I went to re-install the bolts it feels like they hardly catch a thread. Then they just spin.
.
My thought/hope is that the 4” bolts are too short with the washer, bushing, body lift and adding the slider width. I ordered 5” bolts that are grade 8. BTW rhe 4” bolts cross threaded and damaged, the last 1/2” or so of them.
I’m terrified the weld nuts are stripped although I have no clue how it happened. Everything went so smooth before that.
Thoughts? If they are stripped I’ll have to take to a fabricator because I can’t weld…
