I took my trim panel off my 2001 to to replace some loose clips. Why does the bracket behind the trim panel not line up with the pull straps? Is it so same door can be used with different trim/ years? Full doors, by the way.

Ohhh, that makes more sense. Sorry, it was kinda hard to picture what you were referring to.
Your pull handle bracket is upside-down. The side of the bracket with less distance between the edge and the mounting screw should be at the front of the door. You have it mounted pointing at the back. It's one of those "D'oh!" moments.

It had oversized silver screws holding the strap on. Kinda figured something wasn’t right. Now to find the original type black screws. Thanks again. Just swapped the bracket around, now to get the clips and put it back together.

Here is some stuff that may help.
Plastic door panel pins. I know these work for the half door panels and I'd imagine are the same for full door panels.
Door handle bracket U-nuts. Kinda pricey but are the correct parts.
M4.2-1.4x13 door trim screws. Again, pricey, but the correct parts.
Most auto parts stores sell a version of the u-nuts that are a little different. They are flat and don't have the barrel shaped portion that the screws goes into like the MOPAR ones. I'd think they would probably work just as well if you get the proper sized matching sctrews.

The correct name for the part that Mopar uses is extruded U nut. Extruded means the metal was punched to extrude it to make the barrel that can be threaded. There are lots of styles of U nuts and nut clips.
