Broken thermostat

Check engine light came on. P0128 code. Ordered parts and finally get around to fixing it (second vehicle). Pulled the thermostat and it looked like this:
Anything to be concerned about? Looks like fatigue failure at weakest point but, thought I would ask in the event it speaks to something more serious. 2005 with just under 73,000 miles. I assume a factory part because the hoses are OE.

Falling apart, but a new one.

The factory thermostat should have a nice brass bleed valve with a little steel ball in it on the rim, at least my 2004 did.

Thanks. Replacing it with water pump, upper, & lower hose. 15 years old. One less thing that can leave me stranded.
