Bumper and tire carrier suggestions

So... I just got rear ended and now my tailgate and tire carrier, as well as the rear bumper are warped and pretty much trash. The damage isn't crazy, but Its hard to justify trying to repair them, so I think I'll have to get an omix or crown tailgate and have it painted. The issue is that some of the FAQs say that the metal used on the replacement tailgates isn't quite as thick as the stock tailgates, and I run 31's, which is pretty much the limit for the tailgate without extra bracing. My question to all of you is what do you suggest I do: Get the new tailgate and add bracing like exogate or morryde or get a bumper with a tire carrier built in?

Unless you have a compelling need for a "swing-set" (bumper mounted tire carrier), the MORryde kit is preferred by many knowledgeable members.

Do you know anyone who's had experience with the Rugged Ridge Spartacus HD? It seems to have decent reviews and also can come with the tire mount itself.

High praise for the morryde from me. I bought one used from another forum member and after what I'm told was a couple of years on the PO's TJ, all the parts were still in near new condition. Fit, finish (powder coat) and overall quality are excellent and the unit is stout.

After you put the hinge on, did you use the rugged ridge wheel mount or stock? The RR one sticks out kind of far in my opinion.
That is an issue. The RR tire mount sticks out 12" from the tailgate as opposed to 7" for the OEM or Hyline Offroad mount.

I did use the RR one I don't feel like it made that huge of a difference.

Anyone know off the top of their head the thread size/pitch for the nuts that go across the tailgate that hold the carrier bracket?

Since that video in Feb 2019, I've have no issues arise. That said, I'm only running a 32" wheel and type package on it. The lack of snubbers hasn't appeared to caused any ill effects, believe me I've kept a good eye on it..
Did you ever use it to mount an aerial on?
