I remember thumbing through the JC Whitney catalogue when I was a kid looking at jeep accessories - now here I am MANY years later getting ready to look at my first jeep. The owner started at 8 K a month ago is is now down to 6 k. I'm going to offer 5 K and anticipate 5.5 K The listing states the following:
Pros:
-New luk clutch and flywheel
-New master/slave cylinder
-Rebuilt ax15
-Rebuilt transfer case w/ aftermarket 4x4 planetary (much stronger)
-Rebuilt front and real drivelines from walker driveline
-New radiator
-New rear main
-New plugs/wires
-Aftermarket interior roll cage/aftermarket roll cage/roof
-Has overhead sound bar
-front sway bar quick disconnects
-fresh motor oil/ dif oil (front and rear)
- New moog steering links and heims, also comes with extra moog ball joints
-clean title in hand

Cons:
- no carpet on interior/ passenger side seat rip
- needs cb radio hooked up/ sound bar hooked up.
- exhaust manifold has small crack in it

Good stance from the front; looks good. Do you have any other pics from the side and some frame/undercarriage pics? Black? What’s miles?

Mileage is pretty high. Did you just start looking? Craigslist is going to be your friend and favorite website for the next couple of weeks. I’d scout the site today and tomorrow and just see if there is something comparable/better out there with less miles.

Good advise - I think I'm going to go look at it for the experience. You are right on the mileage. You are right about craigslist... I've been looking for about 6 months - I finally have the cash so just looking for the right deal to come along. I almost bought a 4 cyl but Chris convinced that a 6 cyl is much better.

Mostly a logging road / camping jeep. The rack seems like a nice feature; however, I'd like to buy a few jeeps - learn and then find my unicorn.
If this is your first TJ, do not buy a high mileage.
However, if this is not your first rodeo, I don't think mileage matters much.

Willys is the Unicorn, CJ is next in line. TJ is the Modern Classic jeep.

I saw a nice green Willy’s listed a long time ago when I had my jk. Had a 3.5” lift KM2s and half doors. It was sharp

Thanks for the input. This is my first rodeo in the jeep world. I am curious about your comment "I don't think mileage matters much". Could you elaborate?
