I'm about to do the full brake line replacement project and decided to add all the brake components to the list since I passed 100k last fall (it sat all winter). I got the three rubber hoses, wheel cylinders, drums, shoes, hardware, and rotors on the way but I still need calipers and pads.
I told myself I'd get BMB pads this time around but I'm having seconds thoughts mostly with justifying the price and product to my needs. Do I really need that much stopping power when my stock brakes are more than enough for my 31's and light jeep? Is it overkill and overspending? Usually that's a good thing but when you got two 1999 vehicles that require frequent maintenance then it's hard to justify the upgrade due to split-budgeting.
If not BMB pads, then what's a cheaper alternative that you would go with?
I've always used Hawk pads on my Cherokee and first TJ and they were great but open to other options now.
I need calipers too and in the process of researching what's junk and what's not. Any suggestions welcome.
