Can a bad O2 sensor cause misfire?

"Trips" can be hard to define when they aren't directly spelled out as to what the PCM is looking for. For instance, this is directly from Mitchell 1 regarding the P0300.

Set Condition: When more than a 2% (2.5 LEV) misfire is measured during two trips. Above 3000 RPM 1 trip, less than 3000 RPM 2 trip.

What does that mean? Idk. I'm sure someone more experienced than me can make more sense of it.
 
Make sense, Im going to keep monitoring it. If i dont get the p0300 again then it could have been a fluke.
