Yeah, I pulled out entire dash and steering wheel and swapped in the entire wiring harness from my 2004 donor TJ. It took time and patience!

I'll send you a pic tomorrow when I'm home. Did you use a new or used wiring harness for the cab? I'm wondering if there is a place to order a new one.

I made use of a used wiring harness from a donor 2004 TJ I bought at auction. But that Jeep only had < 18K miles on it so all interior items like the wiring harness are like-new condition.
I don't know if there's a source for a new wiring harness
 
So I cut the bracket off and added an extension plate and tapped out the bolt holes once I figured out the exact location.
