Car pics too cool not to share

The haunches might be pumped up some, but I also think it's a bit of illusion caused by the lowered windscreen frame.

I'm partial to the XK120, D-type, MK II and XJ-C over the E-type.

I expect zero agreement or even understanding on this one, but for some reason that even I do not claim to know, I have always loved the looks of the '60s Jaguar 420 saloon. There's just something about it that whispers "luxury" to me...

The Jaguar ad campaign reminded me of another one that actually started off from the beginning with a failed marketing scheme. Who here among us remembers the first Infinity ads that ran on TV without ever showing the cars? I certainly do. I didn't understand it at the time, and I just find it laughable now. Ads #3 and #4 are particularly so.
Welcome to 1989...

That's new to me. I'll assume that ad campaign was a flop. Was Infinity somehow associated with nature or off-roading back then?

I remember these, still absurd but now with added funny, as you noted.

Nothing wrong with that, fine looking car. I think all the Jags of that era just "looked like luxury".

It was like they watched what happened to Bud Light/Anheuser and said I'll have two of those.

Jaguar’s ‘Woke’ Campaign and Rebrand Leads to 97.5% Drop in Sales

Part of that drop is they stopped production for a year to switch to EV, I don't believe it was all the woke campaigns fault.

Much like the articles saying Ford loses $30k on each EV they sell, no they have invested billions in EV's (rightly or wrongly) and the more EV's they sell they will recoup that investment over time or decide EV's were dumb and take the remainder as a loss.

I haven't looked too deep into the Jag situation. I knew they were pushing toward all EV, but I hadn't heard/read that they shut down production of current models to restructure for all EV. Seems like a stupid move.

I'd heard about the product pause somewhere else as well, but it's also stated in slide 4 at your link.

That ad campaign was ridiculous, and the product pause with it was just double stupid. 97.5% is a lot but I can't say it's very surprising given those things.

Nope. They just wanted to create a sense of mystery and anticipation for the new car line, but they carried it too far. I even remember late-night talk show hosts make jokes about it, and whatnot.

This was parked about two blocks away from my place. An unusual sight in this neighborhood. I stopped to take pics, and noticed it had no plates. I looked up toward the house in the background (it's a friend's home that is currently being rebuilt after a fire damaged it) and saw someone standing in the window, watching me. I waved, and they waved back, so I just continued with my picture taking. On the way back from the store, I saw a couple of cops in an unmarked car parked in front of it, and talking to two people. When the cops left, the people got in the car and proceeded to drive away. Anyways, here's the car.

I love a Cobra, though do prefer them with 289's and slimmer hips if I'm choosing. Anyway, is it just me or do these just not work?

Put some proper headlights in the thing, man! Looks like an insect! :D

Those type headlights look like crap on a TJ , doing that to a Cobra replica is almost criminal .
