I am wanting to check the runout on my np241j front output shaft. Can I just remove the front output yoke and check for runout at the shaft, then put the yoke back on and torque to spec? Or does it have some sort of preload or something that I need to be concerned about? I'm trying to determine if I have a bent output shaft or a bent yoke, and really don't know of a good way to check the yoke itself.
If I were to do the same at the front and rear Dana 44 diffs, I assume it's not quite that easy... Aren't there crush washers and preload values I need to be concerned about on the diffs?
Just wanted to verify before I dive in. Thanks!
