I have been toying with the idea of moving my license plate to the tire carrier and have found several designs that would work and look the way I want. The problem is that when I removed the OEM tailgate-mounted tire carrier after buying a swing away carrier I also removed all the CHMSL hardware (light, bracket and bracket cover) and wiring from the tailgate as the 3rd brake light is not required in New Mexico. I left the tub-side wiring and contacts in place. Sometime in the last few years my wife (bless her OCD heart) tossed out the box with all that stuff in it, along with a bunch of other stuff that actually was junk. I have been trying to track down those parts online with no success. Davey's? Nope. Countless MOPAR sites? Nope (discontinued). EBay? Amazon? Nope. All the local wrecking yards, excuse me, auto recyclers, just laugh when I ask about TJ's - they ain't got none. I'll be the first to admit that my online search skills are not very sophisticated, so if anyone can offer some tips or places to search I'd appreciate it. The wiring itself is very simple, basically two wires and a pair of contacts. I can make up a wire harness and fab a bracket myself if I need to, but I would prefer OEM if I can find it. Suggestions, anyone? Thanks in advance.
