Clutch issue

My 2002 tj suddenly developed a weird clutch issue. The pedal is much harder to push in, and the normal zone at the top that is soft prior to engaging is gone. Also, every so often a metallic pop happens when pushing in the clutch pedal, which seems to temporarily soften the pedal resistance. The hydraulic fluid is full in the clutch reservoir.

Any ideas?

Oh boy.. that's similar to what I was feeling immediately before this happened...

Is that the input shaft that snapped? I hope that's not my issue!
