Clutch Master Cylinder Assembly

Hey all, so can't find a Luk clutch master & slave cylinder assembly locally & I'd like to get her fixed this weekend. Duralast & Power Torque reviews are dreadful despite lifetime warranties. There's a Napa Clutches brand available & and FTE brand available, or I can just order a Luk & wait for it. Any advice? Thanks!

Ok got the whole assembly out. The basket on the clutch pedal basically fell apart! No visible leaks & it's not empty but definitely alot of squishing when applying pressure to either side. I'd say it was time even if there wasn't an issue!!

Ok, never mind, found a Luk online for $138. I'll just wait for it, sucks when she's parked but Id rather wait for the best part.

Yes, barely touched it & it popped right off.

Fwiw, I've been running a Luk pre-bled setup for 4 years with zero problems. Mostly daily driven in that time-- ~30k miles.

I don't remember if those come with a new master/slave kit. I bought two on Amazon and zip tied the spare up there where I'd be able to find it if ever needed.

I too ran a Power Torque for a day or so. It worked OK but the line didn't really fit up into the contours of the tub like factory, and if I recall something else wasn't quite right with it so being the perfectionist that I am, I tore everything apart for a new clutch I found a new old stock Motorcraft on MoparpartsGiant The Power Torque was barely used and I returned it. The Motorcraft has been great and will probably outlast me.

All of the replacement plastic bushings I tried were junk and failed in my jeep and 2 others I know of in VERY short order. I went with this fix and haven't looked back. Zero problems and solid feel.

Here's the clips I ordered, apparently I ordered one of each to see which was the best. Couldn't tell you which one I am using right now but as you can see it's been 3 years and no issues.

Great idea! Being stuck in the fast lane was very unnerving!! Hopefully 3rd gear is ok because I really had to jam it in there to get moving. Don't want to experience that again!! Grateful my wife wasn't driving it at the time.

That's why I keep zip ties in the jeep. When mine failed the first time I was at a stop light. When I figured out what was going on, I grabbed a zip tie and zipped it together until I could get home. Ordered the replacement bushing and it failed in a week. Did this a few times with supposedly different bushings before looking for an alternative and finding this e-clip fix.

What exactly did you do? You can stop the vehicle, turn the engine off, shift into any gear, start the engine and take off in gear, then rev match to shift while driving. I have done this just from boredom while driving to and from work many times.

Yea I panicked a bit holding everyone up, that's what I should have done. Managed to get it in 1st to get rolling then got it in 3rd & just left it there till I got off the highway. Not too worried about it but did use more force than usual.
