The other day I pull into the grocery store parking lot, park, get groceries, return to jeep.

I'm in my 05 Sport with the 6 speed tranny. I get in, and go to push the clutch pedal and my foot hits the floorboard with zero resistance.

For a split second I thought Scotty had beamed me over to my white tj with the 3 speed automatic. Nope, I'm in the 6 speed manual.

So i look down and the clutch pedal is just hanging there, swinging back and forth. The clutch pedal sensor switch was hanging by its wire and this little part was on the floorboard...

Apparently when i exited the jeep I somehow hit the clutch pedal and pulled the actuator arm from its hole position through the firewall, without hearing or feeling anything.

So i slid the sensor switch back over the actuator rod, pushed the rod thru it's hole in the firewall and it reconnected. Big relief, i thought I was stranded again....

This ever happen to anyone?

Not yet, but thanks for the info. Now I know what to look out for if it happens to me.

Yep that's why I posted this. This happened way too easy if that makes any sense.
Apparently the little clutch actuator rod just pulls away from what it connects to thru the firewall.
